Who We Are

The Center for Politics and Policy Studies (CPPS) is an independent, nonpartisan research and education center dedicated to advancing evidence-based understanding of political systems, democratic governance, and public policy.

Founded on the belief that informed public debate is essential for a healthy democracy, CPPS brings together researchers, policy experts, civic practitioners, educators, and institutions to study the forces shaping governance in India and across the world.

We work at the intersection of academic research, policy analysis, and civic engagement — creating knowledge that empowers policymakers, scholars, media professionals, civil servants, and citizens to make informed decisions.

Our Story

CPPS was established in response to the growing need for credible, accessible, and independent analysis of political institutions and public policy in South Asia.

At a time when public discourse is increasingly polarized and policy decisions are often influenced by misinformation or limited evidence, CPPS was created to strengthen democratic dialogue through rigorous research and open civic participation.

Since its founding, CPPS has focused on:

  • Independent Policy Research
  • Democratic Governance Studies
  • Civic Education
  • Institutional Reform
  • Comparative Political Analysis
  • Public Engagement & Dialogue

Our work is grounded in methodological rigor, institutional independence, and commitment to the public interest.
