Center Head
Dr. Gowd Kiran Kumar.
Dr. Gowd Kiran Kumar is the Founder and Centre Head of the Centre for Politics and Policy Studies (CPPS), Hyderabad, a public policy think tank committed to advancing evidence-based policymaking, social justice, democratic governance, and inclusive development. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Hyderabad, one of India’s leading institutions for higher education and research.
Dr. Kiran has a distinguished multidisciplinary academic background spanning management, political science, governance, development studies, and human rights. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours), followed by a Master’s Degree and M.Phil. in Political Science from the University of Hyderabad. He also completed the International Post Graduate Diploma in Risk Management (IPGDRM) from the Institute of Insurance and Risk Management (IIRM), along with Postgraduate Diplomas in Governance and Human Rights. To broaden his international academic exposure, he successfully completed specialized courses from Yale University on the Moral Foundations of Politics and from the University of Geneva on International Organization Management.
With over a decade of experience in research, policy analysis, and academic engagement, Dr. Kiran has worked with several reputed institutions, including Government of Andhra Pradesh, Ashoka Political Data Centre, Swayam/ePG Pathshala, and the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad in various projects. His scholarly work focuses on public policy, governance reforms, social justice, food security, democratic institutions, and inclusive development. He has presented research papers at numerous national and international conferences across Asia, Europe, and North America and has published research in reputed academic journals and policy forums.
A recipient of the UGC Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and several prestigious national and international academic grants, Dr. Kiran combines academic rigor with grassroots understanding of public issues. Through CPPS, he continues to foster policy research, leadership development, and public dialogue aimed at building a more equitable, democratic, and inclusive society.

I am D Shiva Kumar.I hold a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Statistics from University of Hyderabad and a Bachelor’s degree from Osmania University.
I possess strong skills in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, data analysis, statistical methods, and data management. I am a dedicated and hardworking individual with leadership qualities and the ability to effectively manage and work with teams.
During my Bachelor’s program, I completed a project titled “Salt Physics Approach”, which enhanced my research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
I also worked as a Staff Support member in an Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) project under the guidance of Dr. Devaraj J.P., Scientist-D. This experience provided me with valuable exposure to research activities, project coordination, and data-related work.
With a strong academic background in Statistics and practical experience in research and data analysis, I am committed to applying my knowledge and skills to contribute effectively to academic, research, and professional endeavors.

Nikhila Bakurupanda
Nikhila Bakurupanda (Nikki) is an AI-forward Product Manager and technologist with expertise in product strategy, artificial intelligence, and digital innovation. She has extensive experience in product lifecycle management and currently works as Product Manager at T-Mobile. Nikhila holds a Master’s degree in Media Management from Carnegie Mellon University and is soon going to pursue graduate studies at the highly reputed Georgia Institute of Technology, specializing in Artificial Intelligence. Her work focuses on building AI-powered solutions in multiple domains, bridging technology, innovation, and user-centered design.
With a strong foundation in both technology and business strategy, Nikhila has contributed to the development and execution of data-driven product initiatives that enhance user experiences and drive organizational growth. Her interests span emerging AI technologies, product innovation, and the responsible application of artificial intelligence to solve complex real-world challenges. Through her interdisciplinary approach, she continues to explore new opportunities at the intersection of AI, product management, and digital transformation.
